Marriages and Mentors Conference April 16th – 19th
For Couples Impacted by Homosexuality

I wanted to let you all know about a special conference being held for Christian couples whose marriages have been impacted by homosexuality. couple-counseling It’s a unique format that allows each couple attending to include a mentor couple to accompany them and therefore be part of their process of healing and communication.  What better way for a couple to approach their challenges than with a trusted couple to walk alongside them, who is also equipped on the issues?  So many times there are couples who want to help in these situations, but they feel inadequate because of a lack of background or understanding on what the other couple is dealing with.

I love the innovation of this conference, and hope you’ll take the time to check it out.

Speakers include Mike and Stephanie Goeke and features a concert by Karen Fischer. It is being held at Stonegate Fellowship in Midland, Texas.

I am seeking help and courage. I will be confronting my husband in the next few days. I feel there is little hope for the marriage and I feel his is forever crossed to a side where there will be nothing for him but pain and loneliness

  2. Here’s a comment from someone who attended the conference and later sent me an email. I thought I’d share a portion of it with you. -R

It was great to be with other wives and couples who struggle (or as someone put it overcome) with this whole issue of homosexuality. We had great teaching in going through the whole process restoring our marriage. There was much spoken about growing in the Lord as well as practical help in conflict situation. We broke down into groups 3 times–once with our spouse (the mentor couples meat on their own), once with husbands in one group, wifes in another, and the third time the couples met in the group with their mentor couples. Each of these times was meaningful to us. We really did not feel alone in our hurts, and felt more ready to share with people who were hurting, too.

My husband and I are far along in both of our journeys, but I have to tell you, that we needed this conference so much. I think in our minds we had been settling for less than God has for us, and we are so encouraged. On so many levels, I loved having a mentor couple there. They received education, they asked us hard questions, they loved on us, we feel so blessed.

    Thanks for letting me share!

  3. Hi Renee,
I read about the Crossposwer Ministries (at their website) marriage and mentor’s conference this morning and I’m so struck by how the pastor there really “gets it”. Now I’m wondering if our new pastor gets it. I’ve heard nothing about ssa issues, and so I’m thinking about bringing it up to him.
Grace and peace to you, and thanks!
